Ahhhh, it's that time of year again – late nights and house music give way to lazy afternoons of static, circuit bent squalls and the proverbial "wall of sound." Little Hati is more white than it'll be for the rest of the year, and that means Churchill's International Noise Conference is in full swing!
For those unfamiliar, every February, Frank "Rat Bastard" Falestra (see bands Laundry Room Squelchers and To Live & Shave In LA) imports the best and loudest in annoying music(s) from around the world and gives 'em 15 minutes a pop to make our ears bleed. This year, the favorites are France's Costes, Chicago's Rotten Milk vs. Bubblegum Shitface, and Rhode Island's Byron House. Always community driven, Rat has reserved a slew of slots for choice locals, too (see Ha Ha HELP!, Roy Of Sealand, Dino Felipe, etc.)!
This event is definitely not for everyone, but if you're adventurous and/or masochistic, go to Churchill's RIGHT NOW! The party's been raging (in a morose sort of way) since 6. And if your thirst for pain is exceptional (or you couldn't make it this eve), the conference runs down your pant leg and all day long tomorrow from 1p.m. - 3 a.m. Check back Sunday night for a review blog and audio samples from the festivities.
See you there, and bring your earplugs! For more information and a complete lineup, please visit www.squelchers.com, and for mp3's of performances from the conference, go to www.listenforclicks.com .
