UPDATE: Clubland Miami

The boys over at Rakontur finally put up the Clubland movie documenting the nightlife with the magnates who owned and operated Club Mynt in it's heydays. We blogged about this some time ago and it got some nice comment threads. Remember the clips "Lose Weight" and "Name Drop" documenting what a night goer need do to get into Mynt? They were pretty hilarious as stand alone clips but the entire online documentary is finally up and running.

The documentary takes viewers behind the scenes of the nightlife world into the back offices giving a glimpse of the egos and tension between owners and employees. It specifically follows the the tenuous relationship between Nicola Siervo, Rony Seikaly and Roberto Caan - former owners of Mynt - and how they worked and eventually split to open Mokai. Here's a little more detail but I suggest you watch it:

Clubland takes you inside the epicenter of the hottest party scene in the world - Miami's South Beach - offering unprecedented access behind the scenes of the nightclub industry at its most competitive. Beyond the velvet rope, through the VIP lounges, past the DJ booth and right into the back office. This is the story of the money, the egos, the catfights and the controversies at the most popular nightclubs in town.

UPDATE: Rakontur mentions on their site that there will be a total of 60 webisodes posted dailt starting Nov. 24. Currently 5 are available, so if you liked what you saw then keep an eye on the Clubland Miami site for updates.

Wow, that was interesting. Wish it was longer, in a movie format rather than webisodes. The commercials are rather obnoxious...
Thanks for the link-love BAC.

I like the commercials, but there's only two of them.

I hope the Rakontur boys release this in unabridged form at some point. Maybe a torrent?
Yeah it's great, too bad for the gaps and now I'm left with nothing more.

We're thinking about it -- maybe a torrent and DVD release with a bunch of extras.
