Ultra organizers take note

This is what you call a great line-up. Coachella once again has a great mixture of old favorite and new progressive acts. While Coachella tends to lean more to the alternative music side than Ultra Music Festival, its a model I think Ultra organizers should follow if they want to guarantee the continued success of the event. And the model is simple: Coachella isn't afraid of change, it embraces it.

It might be better than Ultra, but make no mistake - this the worst Coachella line-up ever. Talking as a 3 year veteran, every Coachella-devotee that I know is avoiding this year's fest like the plague.

Look at the electronic lineup this time around, Tenaglia, Fatboy Slim, Pendulum, Erol Alkan, Boys Noize, Justice, James Zabiela, Adam Freeland, Sasha and Digweed, Junkie XL, Deadmau5 and VHS or Beta have ALL PLAYED ULTRA

Ultra should pay more attention to festivals like I Love Techno and Pukkelpop who do the electronic thing and do it far better than they do.
Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?
I agree 100% with ya Carlos D.

Don't get me wrong, this line-up sure has a few gems in there.
But this line-up; http://www.losanjealous.com/2008/01/07/coachella-2008-first-fake-line-up-revealed/ would have been incredible. I would have certainly gone through mission part deux to make it to Indio.

As Duran reported earlier, a SoFla version of Sonar would be amazing. And if they follow their own steps as they've done over in Europa, that shit should make Bang!, Ultra, Bonarro, and any other East coast festival look like my toe nail clippings!
Most of the EDM acts playing Coachella this year (Junkie Xl, Boy Noize, Fat Boy Slim, Danny Tenaglia, Sasha and Diggweed) PLAYED last year at Ultra and Kraftwerk played at Ultra 3 years ago and a good portion except for Junkie and Fat Boy were confirmed to play Ultra this year, waaaaaaaay before Coachella had its line up. So is Coachella really that progressive or is it that Ultra is ahead of the game? Maybe you guys should really stop hating on Ultra because you don't realize how on top of things they really are. And Pukklepop isn't really an Electronic festival the euopeans just like to have a more variety of music Dance Valley and Global Gathering are the only real festivals like Ultra that can make a comparison. In the end, lets see you guys put on a better festival and stop trying to take a shot at Ultra.
There are definitely more electronic and electronic-influenced artists on that bill that Ultra could invite yet haven't such as M.I.A., Bonde Do Role, Hot Chip, Calvin Harris and Modeselektor. We'll see what Phase 2 holds. I just want Ultra to be aware that they should break from booking the same acts. Don't get your panties in a twist.
Ghost of Miami Nights Past
Actually, Calvin Harris is on the friday line up for ultra apparently, so that should be good. i agree though, ultra needs to book acts taking stuff in diff. directions. I'd personally love to see hot chip and people doing live sets, like nathan fake or the field.
plus, Ultra doesn't know what Raging Against The Machine entails. 2007's Coachella did.
Rage at Coachella... Sucked (I was there and they really sucked )
and they are a bunch of sell outs.

Sebastian, Kavinsky, Dan Deacon, Datarock, Diplo, Yo! Majesty, Surkin, Para One, New Young Pony Club, Chromeo, SMD, etc...

There's a lot going on there without even going into the indie bands. It shits on Ultra... "Weak lineup" or not.
