Tonight: Apt. 423 @ Love Hate

Apt. 423 (formerly Apt. 407) is NOT at some poor fool’s apartment. It’s at Love Hate (423 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) starting tonight. Apt. 423 is the underground’s underground party because it attracts a very non-typical, South Beach crowd. For now, at least. Hopefully you’re not a typical South Beach reader who will go to this party and spoil the vibe. No offense, but keep away from things you’ll never understand.

I’m talking music, son. If you dig disco dancing, put your t-straps on and be prepared to twirl. From disco to electro to straight up rock 'n' roll, Apt. 423’s musical tastes run the gamut. DJs Jonathon, Josh and Ray Milan handle the decks – which turns this party into a secret society of music nerds. Except in 423’s case, all the nerds are handsome – glasses and goggles included.

Can you elaborate more on the differences between the south beach crowd and the midtown crowd?
A typical South Beach crowd is either stupid New Yorkers or Europeans that think Miami is only a 17-block area at the end of an island, or Kendallites who wish they'd live in South Beach. Midtown/Downtown crowd to be more apathetic and hard to please, thats why nothing impresses them and shit fails all the time. Also most feel a certain are of superiority because they "rough it" in their high-rise condo located blocks away from Overtown and Wynwood. They like to think they are "street".
Ghost of Miami Nights Past
I would say the beach crown is a bit more transient than the midtown crowd. People want to live in the beach, just like they want to live in NYC. Typically for a short period to get it out of their system. It is obviously also a top vacation spot so there is a high concentration of tourists.

But stop focusing the people, just enjoy the music. Who honestly cares of a spring breaker shows up and enjoy the party? More power to them. The crowd is always varied at Apt as is the music.
duran, lol @ both of those assessments... some people do live in non-condo buildings in the neighborhood though!! 'roughing it' or not, whateva...

but last time i was in chicago, i remember someone saying ot me, 'oh, you live in miami! do you live on washington or on collins?'
Ugh, I pray for the hastening of global warming to flood the beach.
pop lock and drop it
some kids live under bridges... i live in an apt.! music brings us all together just like Fatburger
