1. Baklava is the brownie of 2007
This weekend I hit up the Miami Greek Festival. Let me just tell you, the Greeks really got it going on! I had the usual - a Greek salad and a gyro (my favorite). Afterwards I had a sweet tooth, and a friend recommended that I try baklava. I wasn’t going to at first, however my horoscope did advise me to try something new. It was divine! People get your hands on a piece right now and feed it to all whom you love. However, ye be warned: rumor tells that it’s an aphrodisiac.
2. Gay guys still think the sun beams at all times… even at night… even indoors at night
I don’t mean to bash my own breed, but I can’t let this go. Wearing sunglasses at night is the equivalent of holding up an umbrella indoors when it’s not raining. I don’t get it. Please stop. It ruins every chance I would have had of having interest in you. Not to mention it’s a shame because you might have been cute, but I couldn’t even tell behind the giant “Dolces.” Maybe it sounds superficial, but I couldn’t be with someone who wore shades in the PM. I just know that no good would come of it.
3. Tonight Martini Tuesdays is at The National Hotel
In case you’re a virgin to the event, Martini Tuesdays is a weekly cocktail party for the gays. It meets at a different venue every Tuesday at 9 p.m. Now in its fifth year, Martini Tuesdays is something chill to do if you feel like having a drink and possibly meeting someone new. A plus is that there is never a cover charge. However, a minus is that sometimes I find myself being the youngest guy there (I’m 21). The National Hotel is on 1677 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.
