The Return of Isaac Hayes is Awesome!

Captain Awesome returns to Circa 28, 2826 N. Miami Avenue, tonight to spread monkey love all over your face. It’s going to awesome and we are all going to get down to no cover and a night off the beach. Circa 28 will be giving you lounge and Mr. Awesome will be passing grooves of low tempo, electro jazz and trip hop. We are bringing our cameras – maybe someone will get naked. Either way it’s event worth checking out.
On a side note, I rented this bitch-ass movie called BaadAsssss Cinema. It’s a documentary made in 2002 about the blaxploitation films of the 1970’s. It highlights those movies’ impact both on culture, music and Hollywood. Did you know that the movie “Shaft” which was originally made in 1971 saved Warner Brothers Studio from going under at the time?
A young Isaac Hayes makes an appearance in the documentary. They show footage of Hayes in the studio with Shaft director Gordon Parks, laying down the groundwork for the groundbreaking theme of that film. We all remember the original Shaft theme song? Perhaps you’ve even hummed in the shower from time to time like yours truly. Point is, I think that Isaac Hayes looks like Captain Awesome. Or shall I say that Captain Awesome looks like Isaac Hayes.
