It's happening, sources say at Cooljunkie's forums, and speculation on who will be headlining is already swirling. Some say the Smashing Pumpkins (or the Frankenstein band Billy Corgan now calls the Smashing Pumpkins) and Kanye West have been confirmed as headliners for Bang Music Festival at Bicentennial Park this year. Not as daring as Duran Duran and Daft Punk, but if it is true, this ought cause a riot at ticket booths everywhere. Here is my wish list of other performers that I would love to see at Bang:
- M.I.A.
- Uffie
- Justice
- Bjork
- New Young Pony Club
- The White Stripes
- The Knife
Wouldn't it be sweet to have Bjork and the Knife? God, I would die. Do it to it Bang organizers, all these people are currently touring so they shouldn't be too hard to nab.
Oh, and in case you haven't seen the latest incarnation of the Smashing Pumpkins, below is the video for their (and by their I mean Billy's) latest single "Tarantula":

How about: Iggy and the Stooges (fux Smashing Pumpkins), Tiga, Switch, Klaxons and SMD are just a few I would love to catch.
I'd rather see these guys perform:
M.I.A. and The White Stripes, that would be awesome.
Arman Van Helden, gabriel and dresden,......get ready!!!!!
Here's my list:
Justice, but Live. They KILL live, it's amazing stuff.
Beastie Boys - Amazing live show, universal appeal, openings at Early october.
Underworld - Miami LOVES Underworld, this is a no-brainer.
LCD Soundsystem - Never really played Miami, both dance and rock = would floor.
please stop wishing for this horrible line-up...it sucks!
While 3 of the stages are dedicated to electronic music, the other 2 stages are for rock/indie/hip hop artists/bands.
P.S.: Credible source told me for sure Smashing Pumpkins will be the headliners.
They talked to the organizer/founder and said 2007 is going to be a 2 day event (hopefully).
If Bjork is there, I'll die.
If Basement Jaxx is there, I'll die forever!!!
They need to do at least ONE U.S. festival this year!!
Bjork
UNKLE
Satellite Party
Infected Mushroom
Underworld
Green Velvet
Basement Jaxx
Deep Dish

I can also see either Mos Def or Clipse filling Common's spot last year. And, if they're willing to take a risk, having Spoon or Cold War Kids to take Modest Mouse's spot.

As for who would take Damian Marleys spot at Bang? Well what about Stephen Marley? He's the one touring right now :D
He was at this years Coachella as well, along with Damian.
I doubt Daft would come back, but it would be awesome indeed.
Tiesto was there last year.
I saw TV on the Radio in Orlando last year, but I'd love to see them again! And I missed Bloc Party here, so they'd be cool to have as well.
So many possibilities with the lineup. I can't wait til the lineup is announced!!
I love Bang because it is nooot ULTRA..not all of us want to hear Roger Sanchez or George Acosta....How OLD are they anyway???
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE

Johnny McGovern (the gay Pimp)
Lords of Acid

it's retarded. all it does is give you a headach especially if your on the amount of drugs that you people say are on!!! (It's not really music anyways) it's just the same thing looped. Well that is if it wasn't ripped off from techno that has already been spun
Anthony Rother

Please make Bang worth while......JAX has Talleyrand...
Win Tickets to: BANG Music Festival BANG Music Festival returns November 10-11 at Bayfront Park Amphitheater. Some of the scheduled performers are Smashing Pumpkins, Kanye West, The Roots, Spacebar, Automatic Loveletters, Riverboat Gamblers, Javier Garcia, Kevens, The Bravery, Spoon, Explosions in the Sky and many, many more. Tickets on sale September 1 at 10am. For more information visit http://www.bangmusicfestival.com/
this blows. i mean, those arent necessarily bad performers..but first of all its at bayfront instead of bicentennial, which is less than half the area of bicentennial and only has one stage! and room for maybe two more AT BEST. and i dont see any good electronic names yet. im all for diversification, but between daft punk and tiesto last year, bang really made a name for itself as an up and coming electronic music festival, and it would be a shame to see it go to waste with lineup trends like this.
If that is legit, then Bang really won't do too well. I mean even for somebody like me who is more into the rock section of it, there's nothing special--other than Explosions who were at at langerado, anyway.
Bjork (would be the third time I see her this year...but u guys her Volta show is AMAZING!)
The Knife (it's not gonna happen, thankfully I saw 'em last year. But still a nice mention)
GIRL TALK
Calvin Harris
Bonde Do Role
Amy Winehouse
Chromeo
Peaches ( I can never get enough! )
M.I.A.
Black Devil Disco Club
Boys Noize
SMD
Chemie Bros.
The Smashing Pumpkins (yes I actually like the new shit)
GO! Team
Spank Rock
Erykah Badu
Kalxons
John Starlight or Zombie Nation (same guy!)
Paris Hilton (mmmmhmmm das rye! LOL)
The Faint
Playgroup
Soulwax
Phoenix
Zoot Woman
and what I would totally GAG over....
A Miss Kittin and the Hacker reunion show!!!
Now come on you damn bastards...make IT happen!!
Also, I really don't think BANG will be limited to just the Amphitheater, there isn't enough space there to hold everybody that would show up for just the only two confirmed artists. Not to mention it would severely limit the amount of money they could make.
I suspect we'll get a multiple stage, sprawling thing - like early Ultra or even those shitty Zeta shows from back in the day.
Looking at band schedules - Spoon makes total sense, I guess EITS could play it too.
I'm hoping we at least get Girl Talk - the man is a PERFECT FIT for this city and this festival.
there u have it....
If the lineup sucks, I'll probly use what money I'd use there to possibly go to Vegoose to see Daft again.
But really, when is the flippin' lineup going to come out??!
Daft Punk return
Thievery corporation
Roger Sanchez
Cedric Gervais
PVD
steve angelo
markus schuls
robbie rivera
infected mushroom
the bravery
the rapture
benny benassi
david guetta
Gabriel & Dresden
bad boy bill
the roots
Ferry Corsten
Van Buren
Erick Morillo
Deep Dish
Austin Leeds
richie hawtin
i Know how many of you would change their mind if this was the Lineup
LAME!!
Which leaves 3 more stages for the elctronic stuff.
I'm sure they will bring some elctronic acts, but it won't be as awesome as last year.
I'm still holding out for hope that even though it's being held at the amphitheatre, that they will have tents/stages as well. I've never been to Bafront Amphitheatre, but a friend told me it's big enough to hold another stage or 2.
And can they possibly take any longer with the lineup to be released??
PLUR
Keepin' the dream alive! (Bang 2006)

Check his myspace for dates 'n' info :)
This is the ultimate let down. I have waited a whole year to finally be able to attend BANG. I remember last year I was in downtown riding the metro mover and looked down to see BANG. Right there at moment, I regretted not buying a ticket.
The reason mainly, why the turn out wasn't that good last year is because everyone was apprehensive of whether or not the festival would be worth the money and time. I for one was the only person in my group of friends willing to pay last year. They were all uneasy because they would have much rather spent there money to ULTRA.
The day after BANG, the few people that went, that we know of, let us know how amazing bang was. At ULTRA even, people would share there stories of BANG. The point it, I have five people willing to go to BANG, and every person i know has another five willing to go too. BANG, you are missing out on a great audience, losing money.
The only people that will attend BANG, with that line up, are teens and preteens. Thats if their parents are willing to pay for two days.
Ultra has built you up. EDM is in again. The WMC brought EDM back to miami this year and you are missing out on a crowd that is eager to get back to dancing and having a good time.
Like others have said, no one expects huge names, just average names, you can even have local artists. People are just looking for an excuse to have a good time.
DO IT, yes you can do it in a short time. Think again, people will go. IF you have the following year to bring more people, give miami what they want.
If you really want an alternative music festival, miami inst going to work.
DJ CUE is part of the lineup.....
is that a hint that there will be EDM?

I LOVE
I just checked the Bang Site...
BANG MUSIC FESTIVAL has been POSTPONED...
Ticket refunds at point of purchase!
I guess they aren't selling shit for tickets.
Hopefully if the show does eventually go on, they fix out some shit.
My guess is if anything, they will change it to a 1 day event and have everybody on the same day spread across 2 or 3 stages...but I dunno...we'll see.
Any idea when it will resume, if at all?
Bellisimo morons!!
J
November, 11 2007 at Bang Festival w/Smashing Pumpkins (POSTPONED until May 2008) click for details
Not Available , Orlando, Florida
Cost :
This show has been POSTPONED until May 2008. We are still booked to play The Bang Music Festival. They just moved it to next year in ORLANDO!
HAHAHAHAHA!! They must have had some seriously HORRIBLE ticket sales if ANY lol! Not only did they postpone is until the middle of NEXT YEAR, but they moved out of MIAMI lol!!! To bad Orlando has a HUGE EDM/Breaks scene, suckerssss!
It was just Kanye and The Roots.
They are both BANG worthy. Last year they had Common, which was awesome.
But still, it was odd to suddenly revamp the festivals original charm.
Orlando huh?
Well, it would be more convenient for me, but whatever.
If they needed to make budget cuts, they should have had 3 stages instead of 5.
One main stage, one trance/house stage, and maybe another main stage OR the breaks tent...
haha
thats just wishful thinking...
