I'm waaaaaaaaaay over Justice atm....Not to say I don't like their tracks but I seen em and heard them too much over the past six months.

How about: Iggy and the Stooges (fux Smashing Pumpkins), Tiga, Switch, Klaxons and SMD are just a few I would love to catch.

I don't care to see gramps rock out. It should be illegal to play in a rock band after the age of 50. Now Tiga, Switch and SMD I agree. The Klaxons I can take them or leave them really.

This is a very simple thing for them to do. SP would be pretty great - Kanye sucks it bad live, he loses his breath too often.

Here's my list:

Justice, but Live. They KILL live, it's amazing stuff.

Beastie Boys - Amazing live show, universal appeal, openings at Early october.

Underworld - Miami LOVES Underworld, this is a no-brainer.

LCD Soundsystem - Never really played Miami, both dance and rock = would floor.

Actually, Bang isn't JUST a 'techno' festival.
While 3 of the stages are dedicated to electronic music, the other 2 stages are for rock/indie/hip hop artists/bands.

Luiza have you EVER gone to Bang? Brazilian Girls, Duran Duran, Thievery Corporation, Common, Gnarls Barkley, Damien Marley, Los Amigos Invisibles, Modest Mouse, Kinky... yeah SUPER techno. Bang is truly a music festival. It doesn't ever stick to one genre, it is done more in the vein of Lollapolooza or Coachella.

P.S.: Credible source told me for sure Smashing Pumpkins will be the headliners.

Also the reason Bang's previous lineups were so loaded with DJs is because DJs are cheaper to bring than full live bands (whatever genre they may be), and until Bang starts making serious money that probably won't change.

There was still a healthy amount of Live bands at last years Bang festival. And in no way should Bang try to emulate Ultra, we get enough techno/house festivals as it is. We need more diversity.

I read in a magazine from a few months ago (might have been FutureMusic or something)...a retrospective look at the 2006 Bang festival.
They talked to the organizer/founder and said 2007 is going to be a 2 day event (hopefully).

I think Bang was meant to be a very versatile festival much like Coachella and in my opinion should try to emulate what they have done on the west coast.

I agree... check out the line up of Pukkelpop.com, a festival in Belgium the end of August......talking about combining genres on one festiavl ground...In Europe they have been doing these festivals very succesfully for years........

TVoTR and Bloc Party were already down in S FL this year. I doubt they'd come back. Daft Punk, as sick as they were, probably wouldn't show. Having like Fatboy Slim (even though he was at Ultra) would fill the stop alright. If not that, then LCD Soundsystem would be sick.

I can also see either Mos Def or Clipse filling Common's spot last year. And, if they're willing to take a risk, having Spoon or Cold War Kids to take Modest Mouse's spot.

I don't think you have to worry too much about George Acosta. He's a nice guy but I don't think he made the progression from trance to house as well as some others did, in terms of their career.

The official Bang site has been updated. It says it will be two days this year, Nov. 10th & 11th and that it will be at Bayfront Park, instead of Bicentenial. No line-up yet.

Agreed! Bayfront is a MUCH better and CLEANER venue [with restrooms!!!]. They changed it from "bayfront park" to "bayfront park amphitheater", I'm hoping the whole day we wont be stuck in one area! I love the amphitheater but prefer the ability to choose what stage/tent I want to be at. Can't wait to see the full line-up..

I can't imagine the Bang organizers would keep the masses stuck in one spot. I'm sure there will be several stages as was the case last year.

this blows. i mean, those arent necessarily bad performers..but first of all its at bayfront instead of bicentennial, which is less than half the area of bicentennial and only has one stage! and room for maybe two more AT BEST. and i dont see any good electronic names yet. im all for diversification, but between daft punk and tiesto last year, bang really made a name for itself as an up and coming electronic music festival, and it would be a shame to see it go to waste with lineup trends like this.

Seeing as CMEN's source only pulls rumors off the net and says tickets will be on sale in approximately 2 days, I highly doubt this will be the case

Also, I really don't think BANG will be limited to just the Amphitheater, there isn't enough space there to hold everybody that would show up for just the only two confirmed artists. Not to mention it would severely limit the amount of money they could make.

I suspect we'll get a multiple stage, sprawling thing - like early Ultra or even those shitty Zeta shows from back in the day.

Looking at band schedules - Spoon makes total sense, I guess EITS could play it too.

I'm hoping we at least get Girl Talk - the man is a PERFECT FIT for this city and this festival.

Tickets WILL be on sale in two days... the whole reason I'm here is because I just heard an ad on the radio confirming Kanye/Pumpkins and that tickets are going on sale at 11am Saturday morning.

I was happy about the Bayfront park change considering its a much better venue, but STRICTLY the amphitheater?? no thank you! I don't have any desire to see anyone on the line-up thus far, and if its going to go according to what the miami-herald article says [pop,rock,rap ONLY] I will not be there for sure. Bang attracted ALOT of miami's dance scene so this will be a pretty big let down for alot of people.

I was going to have friends fly in for BANG cuz how sick it was last year... but for Kanye and a few rock bands, Forget It! The next update better have some electro, especially if they think they are going to sell tickets for $150 bucks!

Kanye is good but he aint my cup of tea. I only like one or two songs from Smashing Pumpkins and the Bravery. The rest of the acts are a bunch of EMO bands that suck. Miami is the EDM capital of America, the Bang people should be smacked in the head. I bet they are going to drastically reconsider if their ticket sales are turn out bad. Hell I can do a better job bringing in EDM acts than Bang and Ultra.

I really like Kanye, but he's not enough to make me wanna go, even if I am only 3 hours away from Miami.

Haddad (< is that correct spelling?) promotions is responsible for this... well... i dont even wanna call it a line-up... lets call it a f-up. Yes, an f-up. They are responsible for this f-up, they're not gonna sell any tickets, we had a group of about 20'ish going (20x200 (200 includes ticket, taxes, fees, parking, food, WATER!) = 4000 dollars) and now NOT A SINGLE ONE OF US wants to go, they just lost 4k dollars right there, i mean c'mon! Where is the tiesto or daft punk return??? Why is benny not comin? Why would you alienate 80% of Miami by not headlining with DJ's??? Pure Stupidity. And we're all from UCF in Orlando, and we were still coming, and now not a single one of us is going, looks like Vegoose for me ;) PLUR and BOYCOTT BANG if this lignup doesn't have good music. (p.s. Kanye West has been late to every performance ever, he doesn't credit daft punk on his new "cover" rap song, admits he's late all the time in the song and smashing pumpkins has the same name but is A DIFFERENT BAND NOW!) Cant rabbit just throw somethin underground that weekend like outside of tampa that we can all go to instead? that would great.

This would be a good opportunity for a South Florida megaclub to throw an alternate party, like a Space block party or something.. bring down five big DJs and you'd get most of the Bang customers.

Funny thing is, the artists announced so far is what would compose of the Main Stage 1 and 2.
Which leaves 3 more stages for the elctronic stuff.
I'm sure they will bring some elctronic acts, but it won't be as awesome as last year.
I'm still holding out for hope that even though it's being held at the amphitheatre, that they will have tents/stages as well. I've never been to Bafront Amphitheatre, but a friend told me it's big enough to hold another stage or 2.
And can they possibly take any longer with the lineup to be released??

This is the ultimate let down. I have waited a whole year to finally be able to attend BANG. I remember last year I was in downtown riding the metro mover and looked down to see BANG. Right there at moment, I regretted not buying a ticket.

The reason mainly, why the turn out wasn't that good last year is because everyone was apprehensive of whether or not the festival would be worth the money and time. I for one was the only person in my group of friends willing to pay last year. They were all uneasy because they would have much rather spent there money to ULTRA.

The day after BANG, the few people that went, that we know of, let us know how amazing bang was. At ULTRA even, people would share there stories of BANG. The point it, I have five people willing to go to BANG, and every person i know has another five willing to go too. BANG, you are missing out on a great audience, losing money.

The only people that will attend BANG, with that line up, are teens and preteens. Thats if their parents are willing to pay for two days.

Ultra has built you up. EDM is in again. The WMC brought EDM back to miami this year and you are missing out on a crowd that is eager to get back to dancing and having a good time.

Like others have said, no one expects huge names, just average names, you can even have local artists. People are just looking for an excuse to have a good time.

DO IT, yes you can do it in a short time. Think again, people will go. IF you have the following year to bring more people, give miami what they want.

If you really want an alternative music festival, miami inst going to work.

Well I think this year will be great! They are mixing mainstream with indie in a big way! With Automatic Loveletter and Smashing Pumpkins on one end and Spoon and Explotions in the Sky on the otherside. Plus I heard that Win Win Winter may be playing this year and that would be amazing!

actually, it was postponed for other reasons... the promoters are from outside of the u.s. and there was some sort of issue involving that-- believe me, a show w/ kanye west and smashing pumpkins would outsell a rave any day!

AAAHHHH!! we ought to celebrate this!! They cancelled!! First, I must point out a basic of marketing. They weren't directing it to the right audience. Specially, when the previous years have been such a great success simply bc everyone likes Trance, House, Techno...there was no Hip hop included. Im glad they failed and not for being a bad critic but bc they need to improve their skills. They should have rented a football stadium or something of that sort. Not Bayfront, no Downtown miami which is flowed with techno and trance music clubs. To me, that was highly ridiculous!

They are both BANG worthy. Last year they had Common, which was awesome.
