The term "Ultra Lounge" in Miami is like having the last name Perez. It's ubiquitous on the South Beach party circuit, and to be quite honest doesn't raise any interest in my opinion. If your the Ultra Lounge type however and don't mind the term then Louis should be added to your party destinations. Beautiful women abound, good looking men in abundance and decor to make you feel like a Victorian nobel your bound to enjoy the decadence of this venue.
The venue is inside the Gansevoort hotel a short walk from the entrance. It should be easy to spot, considering there is a large white horse drawn carriage at the entrance. The layout of the venue is a little odd upon entering. Initially you are greeted with a bar, good start, with oversized couches and chairs. If you can see well in the dark you will notice a hall that leads to the back of the club. This separates the entrance from the dance floor where most of the action takes place. The decor is largely oversized paraphernalia such as portraits of French royalty, lamps and chandeliers. This is something I can appreciate, old world like regalia as opposed to more modern looking Ultra Lounges.
The Dj booth is surrounded by what looks like a giant lotus, though I wouldn't trust my low light vision on this, with the bar adjacent to it. The only weird aspect of the dance floor area is the hulking column in the middle of the room which essentially segregates the sides of the floor. This is a complete eyesore. Why would you have something separating the room? Aside from that this is your not so typical Ultra Lounge on the beach. The decorations attest to that statement. Dress to impress as your likely to run into trouble if you don't have the standard jeans, button up shirt, black shoes attire typical of all south beach denizens. You might wanna polish of those line too considering the quality of women and men at the club, I'm sure they have heard every iteration of "Are you tire? Cause you been running in my dreams all night". Above all have fun and be a part of the haute lifestyle that is Miami.
