So let's go through the Pawn Shop checklist: Fridays a hit, Saturdays a hit... Thursdays still working on it. That's where Plush comes in to fill in the void left by the Money Shot/Black Lipstick combo that was their crown jewel of a night. Resident DJs Tony Tone and Alex Alvarez will be providing the music for the night. This open format, hip-hop oriented party will target a younger demographic than Dirty Disco with a lot of college marketing involved to get drunk college co-eds in the door and, soon, hopelessly mired in front of our camera. There will also be a lingerie fashion show which is helpful because I often decide what lingerie to buy when I am at a night club. Lastly, Lackner will be there, the weird old crazy guy in the corner telling stories about Vietnam and bellowing "I'd like to try that on for size."
Pawn Shop has made a huge turn around since a few months ago, when some criticism from this site landed us in hot water. However, I am one person that can give credit where credit is due and Pawn Shop's staff has worked it out. Their best move recently was hiring Xavier Burt of Money Shot, Loop and Dirty Disco to be their new creative director and I think only good things can come from this.
