As much as I am already sick of hearing about the whole “Hardaway Issue,” I feel that being the token homo contributor of the site, I should address it briefly. As a homosexual, I realize not everyone is going to like me due to my sexual orientation, and that’s fine by me. However, when the world HATE is used, then it becomes a problem. Hardaway was obviously not thinking clearly when he made the immature remarks. Though I feel bad for Hardaway for being so uneducated and prejudice, I feel even worst for his PR rep that must be living a nightmare right now. Let me also mention that I am sure there are plenty of closeted basketball players in the NBA. Although with people like Hardaway, I couldn’t imagine the pressures they would endure if they were to come out. It’s a shame too because just imagine how much more entertaining the halftime shows would be.
Wednesday night was the perfect Valentine’s night out for any single. I promised myself to behave and get home at a descent hour so I started my night off early with dinner at Sushi Siam. Dinner was delectable, but I wanted to get my drink on! First stop was The Mark for their weekly Damaged party. Although I’m not the biggest fan of The Mark, I’m a huge fan of an open bar. The music was good, the crowd was mixed, but ultimately it was the free drinks until midnight that kept me. After a few vodka tonics, I took my single ass over to Glass at The Forge for their Saint Valentine’s Day soirée. There are three things I love about Glass: the outrageous music, the parking availability, and the eye candy. This place is stacked with hot straight guys, not the kind of place a single, horny gay guy should be at on the “night of lovers.” Though my night ended without getting a Valentines kiss, I did manage to “bump and grind” on a few sloppy wasted chicks, which is just as good in my book.
This weekend is going to be a good one, I can just feel it. Saturday night I plan to head out to Twilo Miami for their weekly jam. Strangely enough I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard such good things about the music and light system that I figure its time to check it out. As for Sunday there is a Tea Dance at Flamingo South Beach from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is sponsored by Cavalli Vodka (gay liquor for a gay shindig) so the cocktails are complimentary. Now I’ve never been to a Tea Dance before but as you can see, this weekend calls for trying new things. Now that doesn’t mean I’m going to fuck a girl or anything – sorry ladies.
