New Midtown Starbucks!

I'll admit it, I'm a fucking hypocrite. I always preach about sticking it to the man and supporting local business. But fuck me if I can't get enough of Starbucks, so much so that I know who are the best baristas in town. Plus, I'm a fucking pussy because Cuban coffee is just way too strong for me. Well lucky for me a brand new Starbucks opened on Biscayne Boulevard and 30th Street, just four blocks from my new place of a residence. It opened on Saturday, I know because they have a Polaroid picture of their very first customer, which I'll admit I'm a bit jealous it wasn't me.

...or you could go to out of the blue, which is also just a few blocks from your place... but they close too early : /
Out of the Blue has better coffee, but yeah, every time I go they are closed.

I saw that polaroid and was also jealous :( But whatevs, I'm so happy Starbucks is this close to home!! It's about time they finish building that shit. That took forever. That Indian place needs to open on Biscayne and 20th and I'll be one happy camper.
That indian place has had a sign up for.. what.. a year? Still though I'm excited. That Argentine steakhouse is finally open.. has anyone tried it?

You mean that steak place on 22nd or so? It doesn't look very open.
Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?

I'm pretty sure I saw numerous customers in there last night on my way back from Cafe Toscano (which is reasonably good but probably not worth the drive to 70th). It's kinda grayish, east side of Biscayne..

And yes Lackner, it appears you are correct. They opened on Monday.

yeah, i love patronizing local businesses, but it's kind of appalling when you go into a place for a coffee and the guy is like 'sorry, we're closing in 30 minutes.' ! argh! well, i'll still go to out of the blue in the future when i know i can arrive an hour before their closing time. lol.
thats some pretty bad business Arielle.....Im certain the owner doesn't know his employees are refusing customers 30 minutes prior to closing.
I am the eggman
If a coffee shop closes early, the owner is probably clueless anyway.

Have you tried the new steakhouse that opened down the street? I think its called maino churrascaria
Nope, not yet.. it's on my list.. how is it?

guys, whats going on ? I live right behind starbucks and Im really happy that construction ended...it was like weeks of impatience..I went sometimes and ask: Are we there yet? (=
Much like you guys, I very much welcome the idea of patronizing local businesses. I must tell you that I visited Maino Churrascaria the other evening and I was extremely impressed with their meat selection and quality as opposed to their competing restaurants like Porcao.... The cuts were way more tender and less salty which made the meal go smoother and longer.....tooo bad for them since I did eat up a storm; however I did offset their meat loss of profit with my enjoyment of their "passion fruit caipiroskas" unequalled by any others that I had including the ones in Brazil itself. The feel of the steakhouse is that of ultra high end "home" like Casa Tua....and the meat runners are very attentive to people's taste in meat temperatures......

I strongly urge you guys to go! Maino is a valuable addition to the Performing Arts District arsenal of restaurtants......
