I thought I didn't understand all this hoopla about dope kicks, and artsy kicks. To me they were just overpriced Nike SB's (or AF1's) that were way out of control with all their flamboyant gay colors. I also hated people who painted the shoes claiming it was a work of art for the modern urban times. I would say, "No you worthless starving POS hack artist who got kicked out of the Art Institute in Dtown, it's your excuse for being a would be artist who couldn't paint on canvas even if you were on tripping on shrooms." But lately I've had a change of heart. I can't say what it is but I am beginning to have an appreciation for all the different styles, colors and wardrobes that accompany a nice pair of sneakers. Call me a born again. I have seen Jesus wearing some sweet fucking De La Soul high tops and now I am part of the sneaker head army. Ready to smite, or convert, those who would dare curtail our path to dominance.....errrr, I'm ranting. Anyhow if you love this kinda shit then you gotta check out the The Air Force 1 Battle happening at Buck 15 (defacto kicks mecca) tonight. The battle goes from 9-11pm with judges deciding who has the dopest set of kicks in the venue. Prizes will be awarded to both the ladies and men's winner with the freshest kicks.
