Here Come the Bride (I mean), Groom (I mean), Same Sex-Registered Couples...

Monday, August 18, at 10:00 a.m. be a part of history as Miami-Dade County Domestic Partnership Registry finally becomes fully realized.  Herald staff writer Steve Rothaus posted the above bulletin on his blog. 

Aside from it beging a wonderful step toward ensuring the rights of everyone (OMG!) it also gives the local wedding cake makers a reason to start carrying Groom/Groom cake toppers! 

Or better yet... get really creative (read:a lil psycho) like these lovely (read:cuckoo!) ladies. 

Whatevs, in the end it's all about the party- oh and of course equal rights.  But srsly on a personal note me and my guy will be signing ourselves up.  I mean how else am I supposed to get the life insurance money right?  :-)

State governments would be wise to permit same sex marriages on the basis of economics alone. It would boost local economies with all the expenditures associated with marriage... and divorce. Screw ideological concerns. Money talks, especially in a recession.
