Hawaiian Death Metal
Someone once told me that the greatest single most influential factor in English sub culture was the influx of foreign, mainly Jamaican and African music into an already progressive thinking environment. Eventually titled Mods or Modernist , they werent interested in keeping English traditions alive. They saw the future right away. And I always felt it was this attitude that separated the daring artist from boring commercial stuff. I found this great video clip from Egg London made by Onit TV featuring one of Kitsune Record's newest, Autokratz. Autokratz recently got signed to the label and I believe there debut single and LP is set for a release this month. Along side of the other acts and promoters the dudes from Autokratz talk about there feelings towards new electronic music and what it represents in an underground global scene. Its insightful, refreshing and on point. And it made me wonder what’s next in the world of dance floor entertainment?
Autokratz first single, "Reaktor" is a slap happy Nu-Rave style instrumental traxxx with a very quirky ghost like synth part. The lead melodic loop gave me flash backs of watching Saturday morning cartoons as a kid fully equipped with a HUGE bowl of Captain Crunch. "Reaktor" has that typical “Nu-Rave” sound everyone's grown to love. But there seems to be something just a little bit more loose and unpredictable about the arrangement. "Pardon Garcon" is where it's at for me. House like vocals accompanied with high energy breaks and enough audio panning to make your nose wiggle.
