Candyland 13 Music Festival

The Candyland Music Festival is back for its 13th installment in the series. 13 years is a pretty long time to be running a music festival if you ask me. Tenure in the festival biz speaks volumes. This years event will take place at the beautiful and newly renovated Soho Studios in the Wynwood Arts District.

The festival will feature 5 areas: The Future Sounds of Break Arena, Heater/MiamiNights Arena, Basshead Music Arena,EMA Arena and OZ Entertainment Arena. Some of the notable DJs that will be in attendance are Otto Von Schirach, Kill The Noise, Treasure Fingers, DJ Q-Bert and a shit load more. Click the flyer for all the list of artists that will be dropping the beats.

SoHo Sutdios is located in the gorgeous deliciously dilapidated Wynwood at 2136 NW 1st Ave. All ages are welcome with full liquor bar available to those 21+. Doors open from 4pm-9am making this a right proper party. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here

this brings me back massive leg jeans, glitter, feather boas, candy necklaces, and beatcamp at zanzibar. my olfactory senses being tickled by a combo of marlboro lights, dolce gabbana for men, and vicks inhaler.

Just the word "candy" reminds me of when I used to roll in high school and wear stupid ass meticulously beaded bracelets up to my shoulders. Spoke to Treasure Fingers about his involvement with this... WTF, someone please book him at a club downtown/on the beach. :[
My titties increased MN site traffic.

Thanks for speaking to Treasure Fingers about his involvement with the festival. lol

Tis event has been going on for 13 years probly longer than youve been clubbing so im not sure why you are hating. The event has been a staple in Miami's underground and will continue to be so.

By the way it in in downtown. lol
I think it's *good* that more parties and festivals are opening up to the electro sound. What's wrong with that? Adaptation is a great thing and it means that the promoters are smart enough to change with the times. As for the candy thing, it wouldn't make sense for them to change their name after 13 years.

Candyland Celebrates its 13th Year at Soho Studios, Dec. 27
Thu Dec 18, 2008 at 10:00:00 AM
As the name of this event, and the fact that it's followed by a numeral, might suggest, the epic December party Candyland started out in the golden age of the Florida rave scene. In the Nineties, it was a guaranteed good-time on the party calendar, one of several large-scale annual events that included parties like Clash of the Titans. Amazingly, Candyland is one of the very, very few of those to have survived continuously throughout the years. And while the flyer design for this year's edition may visually harken back to the obsolete, heady days of P.L.U.R., the event's producers, Culture, have updated the lineup to reflect the more subculturally broad state of dance music today.

And perhaps to reflect the state of this musical optimism, the party's venue, Soho Studios in Wynwood, is its largest in years, with four separate stages. The two biggest are, unsurprisingly, dedicated to longtime favorite artists and genres of the underground party scene. Heading up a breakbeat-dominated room are Q-Bert, Spacemen, and Magic Mike, among others; in the drum'n'bass room, the biggest names are U.K. legends Ed Rush and Optical.

But what's most interesting here, perhaps, are the musical outliers. One "arena" is headed up by some of the most-blogged electro-house and mash-up producers on the current scene: Kill the Noise, Treasure Fingers, and Ludachrist. (Funnily enough, all three acts boast dark drum'n'bass pasts.) Back in the d'n'b-dominated "Basshead arena," there'll be a special performance by Otto von Schirach, whose experimental breakcore antics have earned him a following among the Laundry Bar - oops, we mean, Black Sheep set. He'll have his costumed sidekick, Peasants with Feathers, in tow, which means the crowd should expect only the bizarrely unexpected.

In January we were presented with the first installment of Juicy Bags , a comic series created by Tyree Dillihay which depicts the lives of a group of UGGS Boots. Since then, Juicy Bag , better known simply as UGGS Sale, has produced a string of comics to keep us entertained, most of which tie into recent releases or events going on within the sneaker community. Today Juicy Outlet by R E E is happy to present the 10th episode in the series entitled "UGG Boots Sale". Based around the upcoming UGG Classic Boots "Foamposite" that's set to release tomorrow, August 14th, 2010, one of the Juicy Couture Handbags characters feels he's got the perfect fit to match the Shox Shoes.
