Radio this morning, 93.1. Post whatever you find it's like the battle of berlin to get any info on Bang Music Festival.

People, let it go! Daft Punk is not going to make back-to-back appearances at Bang. And I don't think I'd like to see the same show twice, especially a year later (they are still playing in the pyramid).

The Roots and The Lips have both played South Florida fairly recently - so I do doubt that. But seeing as they're also two of the best live acts around - I would NOT complain.

We'd probably get bubble Wayne too, since he only does that at festivals these days.

I heard the Spoon rumor, given they're playing Talleyrand the day before in Jacksonville. Spoon is great, this would be good. The Bravery is playing that fest too but they suck.

Let's hope we get some concrete info soon, cause Jesus.

(also, current DP show is only 80% the same as last year, a few new tracks and changes, some different lights and a whole new encore that actually puts the rest of the show to shame)

i saw DP 3 weeks ago and the show was basically the same. yes, a few tiny changes from the 2006 show as far as the music, but no encore...what are you referring to?

The encore was an extra ten minutes of music that didn't happen at all last year. (I saw the 2006 set twice)

It started with chants of HUMAN, HUMAN, HUMAN - led into the song Together, then into One More Time again and ended up mixing "Music Sounds Better With You" into it. The lights were different and halfway through the encore, Daft Punk's suits lit up tron-style and they played the rest of the set like that.

Search "Daft Punk Encore" on youtube and you'll find beaucomp vids of it.

There's a Billboard article now. No Spoon, EITS or Roots confirmation.
Most upsetting info revealed is that only 30 acts are expected to perform.

This means 15 a day. Meaning that the majority of the acts concentrated on the Amphitheater is to be expected. Probably only one side stage.

Kanye West and Smashing Pumpkins will headline the 2007 Bang! Music Festival, to be held Nov. 10-11 at Miami's Bayfront Park Amphitheatre. Tickets go on sale Saturday (Sept. 1).

Thirty acts are expected to perform at the Haddad Productions-steered event, which is expanding to two days this year. Confirmed so far are the Bravery, Riverboat Gamblers, Automatic Loveletter and Kevens.

How can you NOT put Darfur on that list? Darfur is to the 2000s what Free Tibet was to the '90s. I recently moved to Miami, last year when I saw Daft Punk I was like, I love this city! they can't take that away from us. If there's no electronic music acts I won't go and I will move back to Texas, at least Bjork is going to be at Austin City Limits festival.

As much as I hate the line-up and stage situation so far, I understand their decisions. The past 2 Bangs have left investors deeply in debt. Not even the lure of Daft Punk, Tiesto and Duran Duran last year helped the event break even. By offering a more pop, rock, hip-hop line-up they are guaranteed in attracting a lot more people. Kanye alone is going to sell out the show.

However, this means I might just pass on it this year. Oh well, it was nice knowing you Bang, you were fun while it lasted.

Ill definatly be there just to see the Pumpkins.. Can't wait

Confirmed for Saturday, November 10 is Kanye West along with Riverboat Gamblers and Automatic Loveletter. Headlining Sunday, November 11 is The Smashing Pumpkins--in their only Florida appearance this year--with The Bravery and Kevens supporting. Unlike last year's BANG!--which featured a diverse roster of major rock and alternative acts along with a heavy dance music line-up set over three outdoor stages and two massive tents--2007's participating talents will perform on one main stage. The full line-up of 30 expected acts will follow at a later date.

Hey Duran!!! They didn't lose money last year... how could they? There was waaaaaaaaaaaay too many people there and outrageous ticket prices, how were they in debt? There was as many as Ultra and it was great, they will make NO money with this lineup, they lost 4000 dollars just now when me and my group decided not to go. Why would you alienate 80% of florida's music audience? Why!? Haddad productions I expect more than 2 stages, I expect different types of electronica, and cheap water! You will lose more money than you ever have before (if what Duran says is somehow true) if you do this, re-release the lineup with DJ's or YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR MONEY!

I believe there was an article in the Miami Hurled stating Haddad lost money on the '06 event.
