Well, that's the end of that. As of this week, the club that somehow got me most emotionally invested is now rubble. I'm sad about it, but we knew this day was coming. Some weeping and gnashing of teeth on Talk Nightlife.

We finally got all the details for the upcoming Matthew Dear show and can't wait for the days to pass. Inspired by Detroit techno the man is a techno, minimal and underground master. This guy is the complete electronic package.
You could throw around generous descriptors and any number of genre-locking terms "electronic pop, minimal house, acid techno" but you'd still fail to get to the nucleus of Matthew Dear. Releasing tracks under three aliases, including False (M_NUS), Jabberjaw (Perlon), and Audion (Spectral Sound), the Texas native has earned his international status over the course of a decade, getting his bearings on the DJ decks as a teenager to flooring sold-out crowds at famed venue Fabric in London.
Dear's first album Leave Luck to Heaven appeared in 2003 and was praised widely as a seminal fusion of pop and minimal techno. Heaven brought us the insanely popular single "Dog Days" which made it to the decks of famed DJs like Richie Hawtin. More recently Matthew Dear released Asa Breed (2007) which celebrates his pop sensibilities and personal song-writing style utilizing rock instrumentation. Needless to say you will not want to miss this show. For musical reference enjoy some of the selected tracks below. Matthew Dear is spinning live Saturday August 16th @ Boutique Lounge. Boutique is located at directly behind Pawn Shop Lounge on the Corner of NE 13th Street & 1st Court. Downtown Miami.

Club Space and The Pawn Shop have released their Winter Music Conference lineups and I have taken the liberty of selecting a few standouts in my opinion. You can read the entire lineups by clicking the link at the end of this post to read more. Also don't forget you can post your WMC events on Miami Nights for free. Also if your club or company has a lineup ready email us. These are in no particular order.

The Pawn Shop:
Yes, everyone on earth is going to Stereo, including some people not on earth (I'm talking to you two concubines from Xylos-3 wearing very convincing South Beach MILF costumes). But there are two other parties as well:
It's Tara's XXth birthday this Thursday and she has decided to celebrate it at Pawn Shop. You may remember Tara for such classics as I'm Just A Squirrel and Stop Stalking Me. Well, she is back and better than ever (possibly, I haven't actually seen her) so you should definitely come out and get her a shot, unless you hate her. Here's the flyer:

Note to Pawn staff: please be extra selective at the door, as Tara does not want any gangstajuice getting on her Fendi butcher's apron.
That was a fun time. Thanks to everyone who reminded me that it is possible for people to have fun without equal amounts of doucheyness.
Donald totally rocked it! Unusual crowd in attendance but everyone had fun, at least everyone meaning me..
Connecticut girls, do yo thaaang. You are a credit to the University of Miami, Hollister, half a gram, laughing into Long Island Iced Teas, gold jewelery, parking tickets, shaking hands. You have no idea what you've gotten yourselves into.
Epic fail. Please, please, please be a one-timer. Someone write to Congress, or just kill me.

Who knew slipping and sliding on the remains of N cakes could be so much fun?
Happy birthday 7th Heaven + Brando, see ya Peter..
