Can I just start out by saying how I'm loving this new trend of "video flyers". First DAMNSON, now the Zombie Party at PS14. What's a zombie party you say? It's a party that you go to dress as, er, well a zombie. It's part early Halloween party, part potential murder scenario. If you attend you'll get to see all of Miami's favorite underground (and I mean like 20 feet underground) artists and DJs like Otto Von Shirach, Notorious Nastie, Johnny Sex Fuck & The Flesh Rockets, Thug Jesus and more! It all concludes with an Overtown zombie walk, which if you heard about the one that happened in Lincoln Road not too long ago you know its should be fun. Now I leave you think the amazingly grotesque and quasi NSFW video for the party. If you are wrapping up breakfast I suggest skipping it for now.

If you have the slightest bit of awareness within the Electronica scene in South Florida, You've known about this for months. Notorious Nastie drove up to Winnipeg, slapped Aaron Funk in the face with sun block, locked him up in the trunk of his car feeding him only pastelitos and black n milds (dramatization) until tomorrow. In other words, Venetian Snares is playing PS14 on Saturday. Next up on that line up is our local sample mangler,  Mr. Otto Von Schirach. Safe to say, there will be laptops and thumpiness. If you have never heard Otto or VSnares before, DON'T GO TO PS14!!! You will experience acute ringing in the brain due to fluctuating oscillator rates and loop patterns exceeding 240 bpm. Breakcore is not for the light hearted. You might be better off just going to Poplife -- seriously.

Speaking of Poplife & the White Room, Jose El Rey is booked for the same Saturday night. El Rey is everything you love to hate about Miami rolled up into one sweaty 5' 7" pan con bistec of a man. A little bit freestyle, 2live, electro & lo-fi. 100% hot sauce!  I can't quite pin him to Little Havana or Hialeah, or even determine that he is actually Cuban. But for the sake of diction I'll go on the record stating he is one hot Cuban motherfucker from the hoods of 305. I'd post a song, or a YouTube vid, but in all honesty they are complete trash. His vocal recordings suck. He commands a presence on stage he hasn't yet captured on a track.

Jose: It is practical. it is a very powerful scent. and I am not going to you to lie, I sweat much when I touch. when I have intimate relations with the senoritas.

I put deodorant, perfumes and all that, but I have noticed that in my car, the perfumador of atmosphere of royal aroma pine, which I have, clouds all the scents. furthermore, when I return to house, I do not want to smell like the bar, I do not want to smell like the motel. I want to smell like the king, Royal Pine, for that reason I chose that aroma.

IAmYourVIllian and PS14 bring you The Toxic Avenger (IheartComix/France) straight from France tonight in all his masked glory. The avenger mixes some crunchy electro that I'm sure your reverberating pancreas will appreciate. Toxie is the epitome of all that is the beautiful and heavy distortion that washed up on our shores a few years ago. Finally we are beginning to see some quality acts come into town. It is a time of mass hysteria as great DJs from lands afar begin to frolic once more in this fair city we call home.

The Deuce Crew will be opening up the night with their fine skillz along with Frankie Chan. Doors open at 10pm, $5 entrance and as always the FingerLick'n BBQ will be doing its thang. Toxic Avenger Remixes

Ready for a buffalo wing cook off? Nothing like smearing your fingers and face with tasty bbq sauce and chasing it down with a gin & tonic, or beer for you normal people. Aside from the cook off there is always a host of other bbq delictables (hotdogs, chicken, burgers etc) for you to munch on. Your wing off cooks this week are Chris, Bakti and Alfredo. • Also worth catching this weekend is The Back Room @ Purdy Lounge 1 year anniversary. Special guest DJ Jhn Rdn (Hands n' Knees/Philadelphia) will be laying down some phili groove and making the ladies faint with his dashing good looks (J!). And your usual rabble rouser's will also be on the decks, DJ Jessica K (or is it Who?, I think she's having an identity crisis), Ray Milian and Danny Ashe and Johnny Boy. The first time I met Jason Tyler he shoved me into the bar at Pawnshop because I was taking too long to order my Jack & Coke. Two drinks later he came at me again with a promo copy of his upcoming CD Model Tested Rockstar Approved and whispered in my ear, “Watch your back Ryle.”

The second time I saw him I was convinced that I could provoke a battle out of the Chicago dj/producer. On a crowded Thursday night at the Mark I marched right up to him and this time I whispered to him, “No you watch your back Tyler.” Our eyes locked and there was this Discover Channel like moment of two male rams meeting in the wilderness. Friend or Foe? I could hear the Mortal Combat theme playing in my head. Would I have to use my special secret move? Right back right attack up and unleash my psychic force. Tyler quickly retreated to the dj booth where he grabbed his secret weapon (aka his trumpet) and did his crazy Thunder Cats Hoooo style of a solo call. Next thing I knew I was surrounded by a team of sexy black haired hipster girls that would not let me leave the dance floor. I was out numbered and out sexed. I was surrounded by his bass heavy licks and lipstick dance floor followers. He was smart and every transition was perfectly beat matched. I was swept away.

I promised myself I’d get even for falling under his evil sound wave spell. I’ll have my chance this week. He’s schedule to do his sound splicing and electro house shaking tonight, Tuesday Aug 14th, when he drops his disco bomb on an unsuspecting Spiderpussy @ PS 14. So help me god I’ll stand there in the corner and curse his electro heart. I don’t care if he’s the Chosen One!

Damn SP, last week you brought us Larry Tee and now for your 5 year bash you bring the likes of Juiceboxxx? I must admit I am impressed. Tonight catch the Milwaukee white boy dropping his rhymes and beats at PS14. The dude looks like he's having an epileptic attack in his video's so one can only hope that translates to the stage, along with a foaming mouth and rolled back eyes. We put this video on a while ago but this is the only way to appreciate energy like this.
