Barcardi B-Live Miami returns

For those who have been wonder, Bacardi B-Live Miami '08 is returning this year -- albeit a little later -- on April 19 to Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami. The lineup includes Space resident DJ Cedric Gervais, Dave Navarro & DJ Skribble, Deep Dish and Groove Armada. Tickets once again can be ordered online free at Barcadi's Web site, with the only requirement being that you be 21 or older.

There is a new twist this year though that may interest all aspiring DJs out there. MySpace and Bacardi are running a contest to fill up the opening slot with an unknown. You can sign up and submit tracks at the event's MySpace page and enter the chance to open up the whole damn thing.

Sorry guys! Aaron LaCrate stuck in New York

Unfortunately, due to bad weather conditions in the Northeast, we regret to inform you Aaron LaCrate will not be able to make it down for our party tonight. We hope you still decide to come and celebrate our One Year Anniversary. Luckily we were able to snag DJ Conway as a last minute replacement, and if you've ever heard the man spin, he can basically get your body shaking even if you don't want it to. Armand Pena will also be on hand to play that we-hate-France electro in his first appearance ever at Studio A.

Last but not least, come early to snag some FREE tickets to Bacardi B-Live, tomorrow at Bayfront Park. Doors open at 11 p.m., open bar from 11 until midnight.

We hope to make it up to you by bring LaCrate down some other time, we all know everyone was excited to get to hear that B-more shit.

Hype it up!

Today is the day! If you haven't heard by now, you probably haven't logged on the Internet for the past 3 months. Tonight is our One Year Anniversary Party at Studio A. Music provided by Aaron LaCrate and Armand Pena, along with Revolver's resident DJs Ryan Evans and Lauren A. All the insanity will be documented by our photog Mr. Sanders and we'll be joined by the editors from our sister-site Destructoid. Remember to arrive early for your chance to score tickets to Bacardi B-Live. RSVP now to miaminightsblog@gmail.com for guestlist love and no cover charge until 12:30!

Many people have given our little party shout-outs, including the Miami New Times, Cooljunkie and Flavorpill MIA who had this to say about us and our party:

When local blog Miaminights.com signed its soul over to a mega sponsor, it didn't do much for its underground cred. But what was lost will be returned threefold when the nightlife blog shells out a little of its new corporate cash to have Aaron LaCrate spin its one-year anniversary party. At the core of Baltimore's signature turntable scene, LaCrate's mashing of hip-hop and old-school soul is about as "now" as it gets. Throw in a liquor sponsor and blog photographers snapping Miami's new scene recruits and Revolver's loyal following in compromising poses of absolute debauchery.

We had cred? Alas tomorrow, we our done with our Bacardi campaign! And then we are going to focus mainly on WMC and our promoting/hosting duties for Downtown Riot.

See you all tonight!

We are your only hope!

That's right, either you need to know the right people or be really fast as security hunts you down, because you ain't getting in at Bacardi B-Live since the B-Live Web site is all out of tickets. Hmm, I think though Lackner has a big box FULL of hundreds and hundreds of tickets (I'm not lying). Lackner wanted to shred them to have ticker-tape parade around his block, but I've convinced him otherwise! So this is your last chance to score tickets people! And we are going to announce the final winners of the ticket giveaway through the site soon (if you haven't registered, do it now!) But we are still going to have A LOT left over. So if you happen to stop by our One Year Anniversary party and you happen to be 21, we might bless you with your own free pair of tickets courtesy of the blog you love to hate, Miami Nights. See we aren't always assholes.

B-Live will feature performances by Paul Oakenfold, Camp Freddy, DJ AM and Travis Barker. And in a last minute surprise hipster guru Steve Aoki and local favorites the Spam Allstars will also be on hand!

Oh yea, and stick around for the celebration! All the way from B-more comes Aaron LaCrate spinning that new gutter music sound, and from just across the causeway comes Armand Pena, in his first-ever appearance at Studio A, spinning that crunchy electro shit we love! Also featuring Revolver resident DJs Ryan Evans and the lovely Lauren A. Last but not least, naughty pictures by our very own Mr. Sanders who cries when girls refuse to show the goods on camera. Open bar from 11 p.m. until midnight, plus crazy birthday celebration of our very own Courtney Love, Liddy (aka Lil' Lackner).

WMC Artist Bio: DJ AM (Adam Goldstein)

Celebrity DJs are the hottest thing. They're like regular DJs but without all the desperate grabbing for status that tends to make DJs wiry and cynical.

Adam Goldstein (born March 30, 1973) is better known as DJ AM. In addition to his energetic open format live sets, he is known for his previous high profile relationship with Nicole Richie.

He has also scratched on albums for Papa Roach, Madonna and Will Smith. He has played private events for celebs like Jim Carrey, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Stiller, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, and Kate Hudson. He also used to be a member of Crazy Town, which is kind of random.

He has recently collaborated with Travis Barker of blink-182 and Plus 44 in several performances and is an owner of the popular club LAX and spins there on Sunday evenings.

DJ AM will be performing this Saturday at Bacardi B-Live along with Travis, Oakenfold, and Camp Freddy.

Wednesday Auditory Orgasm (Bacardi B-Live Edition)

Paul Oakenfold is a record producer and one of the best-known, and most expensive (£25,000 quid per gig) trance DJs worldwide. As you already know Miami Nights has been working with Bacardi B-Live to spread the word about this amazing event that will take place March 17 (The night after our 1 Year Anniversary Party). Paul Oakenfold has long been one of the most important--if not the most important--name in modern club culture. People who don't know that much about DJ culture or the music itself are familiar with Oakenfold's name and what he represents.

Of course, many people who think they're unfamiliar with Oakenfolds music actually may have heard it often, thanks to appearances globally on the radio and TV. Tracks such as "Planet Rock", "Ready Steady Go" and "Faster Kill Pussycat" are frequently mixed into DJ sets and set of the night like the flip of a switch. This year Oakenfold will perform at B-Live alongside a full live orchestra prompting the obvious question, How will Oakenfolds trance mixes mesh with a full piece orchestra? I have never seen or heard it done before but combining the two forms of music sounds incredibly intriguing. Don't miss him along with Camp Freddy and DJ AM & Travis Barker at the Bacardi B-Live event.
